The Moravian Church is a Christ-centered Protestant denomination that has been serving Christ since 1457. Moravians are known for an emphasis on relationships, missional service and a down-to-earth approach to faith and life that seeks to emphasize Christian faith, hope, and love. This is reflected in our motto, "In essentials, unity; in nonessentials, liberty; in all things, love." Read More

Songs & Sweets - Saturday, February 18, 6:30 p.m.

During the year-long celebration of our 150th anniversary, we will have many opportunities to celebrate not only the history of our congregation but also the heritage of the Moravian Church.  Moravians have a rich musical heritage – not only in the body of literature that has been composed, but also the ways in which music enhances our worship and daily lives. We will feature music as a singstunde "hour of song" based on the anniversary of our congregation, instrumental music featuring our pipe organ, and an opportunity to “stump the organist” by calling out your favorite hymns for the congregation to sing. The event will be led by our own music director, Bob Nickel.

Musical devotion on this level requires sustenance. After the “songs” portion of the evening, all are invited for “sweets” and fellowship – a dessert reception in the Dining Room. Bakers from our congregation will be going all out! There is no charge for this event, but a free will offering will be accepted to help cover the costs associated with the congregation’s anniversary quilt project.  Come celebrate some of our favorite things about being Moravian – our heritage, our music, and our fellowship. The nursery will be available during the “songs” portion of the evening.

Family Retreat:

The Annual Congregational Retreat is coming up on April 27-29. This is an excellent opportunity to get away and become better acquainted with other friends and members of the congregation. This event is for all ages and takes place at our beautiful facility at Mt. Morris. This is a non-structured weekend of fun, fellowship, worship, and getting to know our wonderful facility at Mt. Morris. Plan on joining us!   Registration Form
